We contract with a third party, CyberCash, to process all credit card orders. We maintain none of the financial information you input at our Web site in connection with such orders. As a third party supplier, CyberCash has agreed to treat as confidential all personal information it receives in connection with an order from our Web site and to abide by its own privacy policy. When an order is placed using a purchase order, the information is collected by the internal systems at McAfee and/or McAfee Inc. . This information is maintained in a secure and confidential database and is only disclosed when required by law or regulation. When a customer is referred to us through our affiliate network, the only information that is captured by the system and forwarded to an affiliate is the item ordered and the value of the transaction. No personal information is exchanged. Web-based Applications
CyberCop ASaP,Managed VirusScan plus AntiSpyware,VirusScreen ASaP, and other McAfee Mananged Services utilize proprietary technology to scan your computer system and retrieve information regarding your installed software and hardware. This information is used solely to provide the services you have chosen to subscribe to or use. The information gathered by these applications is primarily used by McAfee to generate the reports that are part of the service; the non-personal information may also be utilized in virus and vulnerability trend reporting. If McAfee shares this information with its third party suppliers or contractors, it will do so under a privacy agreement that includes the commitment that such information shall not be sold, rented, leased, or shared.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or share any customer information that we collect on our Web site. As stated, third party suppliers such as CyberCash must comply with their own privacy policies with regard to the renting, selling, or sharing of information. As partners of McAfee, these partners must also offer McAfee customers the chance to opt out of information sharing. For advertising purposes, visitor and customer information is statistically aggregated and reported toadvertisers. However, we do not disclose to these entities any information that could be used to personally identify you, such as your name, e-mail address, account, password, or transaction history.
